Diagram "The characters are not there to represent individuals- evidenced by my own appearence in wildly disparate roles.
The characters represent ideals- common, ignored, fascinating, secretive, freshly minted and feared.
Anonymity is both deliberate and ultimately proved impossible over the course of the narrative. I wanted to demonstrate identity as fluid, as a trap, an indefinite on-stage prison sentence. I'm not attempting to present myself as an individual, but as an observer or understudy- though it's easy to assume the artist/performer is trying to assert his individuality. Characters appearing nude- especially male characters- lay out two agendas: removal of clear social identifiers, and the provocation of the desire or NEED for discernible social identifiers."
